Arnold Schwarzenegger as The Terminator in Terminator
Schwarzenegger already made a comeback in “T3: Rise of the Machines”, 12 years after “T2” and he’s now back for the sixth (!) installment.
The Governator is in his 70s but there’s nothing stopping him; he did say he’d be back.
Conan comeback, anyone?
Harrison Ford as Indy, Han, and Rick in Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and Blade Runner
The king of comebacks, Harrison Ford has returned as Indiana Jones, Han Solo, and Rick Deckard, all of them iconic characters in movie history.
Ford was 38 when he played Indy for the first time in “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and would come back yet again in 2020 at 77-78 years old.
On “Star Wars: The force awakens” we got the chance to see him again in the role that made him famous, and he’s played Rick Deckard for the second time in “Blade Runner”‘s long-awaited sequel “Blade Runner: 2049”.
Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode in Halloween
The “Scream Queen” is back, too, and it’s nice to see at least two “older” ladies on this list.
Jamie Lee Curtis is back as Laurie Strode from the “Halloween” saga; the first installment, from 1978, directed by horror king John Carpenter, was her film debut.
*Spoiler alert* Her character died in “Halloween: Resurrection”, that’s why this film’s story will be set before that.
Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa in Creed 2
Another 70-something years old star that keeps coming back is Sylvester Stallone with his eternal Rocky Balboa.
After “Creed”, Stallone is coming back once again for the sequel, which might as well be the Rocky’s last (and lost) “fight” against cancer.
He was 29 when he played Rocky for the first time in the Oscarized movie.
Bruce Willis as (not) John McClane in Die Hard
Yippee-ki-yeah, too clichéd.
After 2013’s “A Good Day to Die Hard”, Willis come back to the franchise but he won’t be playing John McClane! Why?
Well because the film had already been teased as “Die Hard: Year One”, so we knew that we were going to see a young McClane, who will be played by a different actor, with Bruce appearing in scenes that bookend the film.
Tom Cruise as Maverick in Top Gun
He’s “only” 55, the youngest on this list, but Tom Cruise also deserves a place because of his comeback as Maverick, his famous character from the film “Top Gun” (yes, the one that took your breath away).
Cruise was 24 in 1986, the year the film was released. The sequel could be ready for 2019.
Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor in Terminator
After 25 years, Linda Hamilton is coming back as Sarah Connor, one of the most important female leading roles of the past, well, 25 years!
The movie is Terminator 6 (working title) and if Schwarzie could come back, why not she? Hamilton is still looking great for her age (61) so we’ll be looking forward to her kicking some butt again.
James Cameron is focused on the Avatar sequels so Tim Miller (Deadpool) will be directing.
Hamilton was 27 when she played Sarah Connor for the first time in 1984’s “Terminator” and will be 62 for the sixth installment which will erase everything that happened since fan favorite “T2”.
